Who can apply for internships in the Netherlands?

Do I have to be a student in order to apply?

Internships are open to anyone, no matter your educational background. We realize that not only students can benefit from an internship. However, if you are coming from a country which requires a visa to enter the Netherlands, it is much easier to acquire one if you are a student.

Are there any age requirements to qualify for internships?We accept interns of any age. The most important aspect of the intern is if they fit the position, so we do not discriminate by age.

How long does the process take?
The process time varies greatly due to the demand and availability of internship placements. The process can take longer if a visa is required.

What are the start/end dates of an internship?
We allow the applicant to choose their start and end dates. Internships are available throughout the year.

Are there any fees associated with participating in an internship?
There are no fees for applying or finding an internship placement. There is a daily fee once the internship starts.

What does the fee include?
The fee includes full accommodations, food, drink, internet, bike, laundry, insurance, mobile phone, welcome pack, etc.

When do I have to pay?
The intern must pay for the first 15 days within 10 days of starting their internship.

Do I need a visa to come to the Netherlands?

Can I get a grant for my internship?
For financial help details, there are many situation specific possibilities. The best place to start is your university, ask for the International Office or finance department. Dutch-internship is an authorized recipient of many government grants like Leonardo Da Vinci, Socrates, Erasmus, etc.  Alternatively, you can contact local groups like Rotary, Lions, your (grand)parents ... or contact us for advice.
